Inside This Veterans Report on UPR Arecibo:
When many veterans attend a school, its faculty and staff tend to be more experienced at meeting the needs of former service members. VA figures show 73 GI Bill® students at UPR Arecibo. As the school’s total enrollment is 2,788, roughly 2.6% of the student body is using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. For context, around three to four percent of American college students are veterans, per the Student Veterans of America.
This number includes all chapters of the GI Bill®, such as Post-9/11, the Montgomery GI Bill®, the Reserve Education Assistance Program, and Veteran Readiness and Employment. It does not include any active-duty military personnel attending via Tuition Assistance, so the total military population is potentially larger.
