Biotechnology is the 174th most popular major in the country with 3,911 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, biotechnology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $52,907 and had an average of $20,555 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 1,022 biotechnology graduates with average earnings and debt of $57,205 and $27,000 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 196 biotechnology graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,457 and $25,851 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Biotech for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 11 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in biotechnology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality biotechnology programs as well as strong veteran support.
