Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Accounting” ranking is part of that endeavor.

With 99,265 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, accounting is the 8th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, accounting graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $47,712 and had an average of $26,539 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Great Lakes region, there were 14,839 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $48,417 and $25,672 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Accounting” ranking looked at 218 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in accounting. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent accounting programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
