In 2020-2021, 11,319 people earned their degree in entrepreneurial studies, making the major the 120th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, entrepreneurial studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $42,578 and had an average of $25,632 in loans still to pay off.

Across North Carolina, there were 260 entrepreneurial studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,455 and $26,181 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 140 entrepreneurial studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,368 and $25,940 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in North Carolina for Entrepreneurship for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 6 colleges that offer a degree in entrepreneurial studies. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great entrepreneurial studies programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of North Carolina at Greensboro. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in North Carolina for Entrepreneurship for a Bachelor’s list. University of North Carolina at Greensboro is a fairly large school located in Greensboro, North Carolina that handed out 21 bachelors’s entrepreneurship degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at UNC Greensboro, the school also landed the #2 spot in our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in North Carolina” ranking.According to our most recent data, University of North Carolina at Greensboro supports 19,764 students, and 885 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 329 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $5,723. To help with additional expenses, 14 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Out of the 6 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in North Carolina for Entrepreneurship for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Elon University landed the #2 spot on the list. Elon, North Carolina is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelors’s entrepreneurship degrees to 29 students in 2020-2021.

Elon did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #1 on our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in North Carolina” list.According to our most recent data, Elon supports 7,117 students, and 100 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 66 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $14,835. To help with additional expenses, 34 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program.

Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 90%. High Point University is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school situated in High Point, North Carolina. It awarded 27 bachelors’s entrepreneurship degrees in 2020-2021.

High Point also made our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in North Carolina” list, coming in at #3.Our most recent data shows that 119 of the 5,617 students enrolled at High Point University were GI Bill® students, of which 56 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $7,813. On top of their other funding sources, 44 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.

Western Carolina University is a public institution located in Cullowhee, North Carolina. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 12 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at WCU, the school also landed the #6 spot in our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in North Carolina” ranking.Of the 12,243 students enrolled at WCU, 439 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
