In 2020-2021, 28,787 people earned their degree in human resource management, making the major the 45th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, human resource management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $49,057 and had an average of $31,139 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 5,374 human resource management graduates with average earnings and debt of $48,568 and $27,397 respectively.
This year’s “Most Well Attended HR Major in the Great Lakes Region” ranking analyzed 141 colleges that offered a degree in human resource management. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have one of the most popular human resource management programs in the United States.

Out of the 141 schools in the Most Well Attended HR Major in the Great Lakes Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Michigan State University landed the #3 spot on the list.
