Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in California for Real Estate” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
Real Estate is the 155th most popular major in the country with 6,547 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, real estate graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $60,568 and had an average of $21,484 in loans still to pay off.
Across California, there were 1,389 real estate graduates with average earnings and debt of $52,687 and $28,229 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in California for Real Estate” ranking looked at 15 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in real estate. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality real estate programs as well as strong veteran support.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the real estate program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Top 15 Best Real Estate Colleges for Veterans in California
Out of the 15 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in California for Real Estate that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Southern California landed the #1 spot on the list. University of Southern California is located in Los Angeles, California and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 40 ’s real estate degrees to qualified students.
USC also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Of the 46,287 students enrolled at University of Southern California, 1,311 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 862 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $20,487. To help with additional expenses, 388 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.
The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 91%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year. San Diego, California is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s real estate degrees to 91 students in 2020-2021.
USD did well in our major quality rankings, too. Pepperdine University did quite well in the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in California for Real Estate ranking, coming in at #8. Located in Malibu, California, this fairly large private not-for-profit school handed out 33 degrees to qualified ’s real estate students in 2020-2021.
Pepperdine not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Of the 9,554 students enrolled at Pepperdine University, 458 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 288 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $19,329. During this same period, 180 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
