Computer Science is the 19th most popular major in the country with 53,722 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, computer science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $66,561 and had an average of $23,565 in loans still to pay off.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 35,954 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value CompSci Schools for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 411 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer science. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer science programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Brigham Young University - Provo. The school came in at #1 for the Best Value CompSci Schools for a Bachelor’s. Located in Provo, Utah, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 181 degrees to qualified bachelors’s compsci students in 2019-2020.

As a testament to the quality of education it offers, BYU is also in the top of our “Best Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree Schools” ranking. It’s ranked in the top 15% of all schools on our “Best Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree Schools” list.
