University of Nevada - Las Vegas tops the 2021 list of our schools in the Far Western US Region that are best for non-traditional education students. Located in the medium-sized city of Las Vegas, UNLV is a public college with a very large student population. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, UNLV has also earned the #1 rank in our Best Colleges for Education in the Far Western US Region ranking.

The student loan default rate at UNLV is lower than is typical, just 1.5% of students default in three years. There are approximately 15,438 students at UNLV that take at least one class online. 8,226 students are part time.

Our rankings recognize Central Washington University as the #2 school in this year's rankings. CWU is a medium-sized public school located in the distant town of Ellensburg. As a testament to the quality of education offered at CWU, the school also landed the #7 rank in our Best Colleges for Education in the Far Western US Region ranking.

About 1.8% of CWU students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. There are approximately 4,411 students at CWU that take at least one class online. About 1,565 of the students at CWU are attending part time.

Our rankings recognize Western Washington University as the #3 school in this year's rankings. Located in the small city of Bellingham, WWU is a public college with a large student population. WWU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #3 on our Best Colleges for Education in the Far Western US Region list.

About 0.5% of WWU students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. Approximately 827 students take at least one class online at WWU. There are roughly 1,864 part time students in attendance at WWU.

Washington State University earned the #4 spot in our 2021 rankings. Located in the distant town of Pullman, Wazzu is a public college with a fairly large student population. Wazzu also took the #5 spot in our Best Colleges for Education in the Far Western US Region rankings.

The school has a low student loan default rate of 1.4%. 4,690 of Wazzu students are exclusively distance learners. 4,985 of Wazzu students are attending part time.

Pacific Lutheran University earned the #5 spot in our 2021 rankings. PLU is a small private not-for-profit school located in the suburb of Tacoma. PLU not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #2 on our Best Colleges for Education in the Far Western US Region list.

About 0.9% of PLU students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. Approximately 67 students take at least one class online at PLU. There are roughly 199 part time students in attendance at PLU.
