University of Maine tops the 2021 list of our schools in the New England Region that are best for non-traditional engineering technologies students. UMaine is a large public school located in the suburb of Orono. UMaine also made our Best Colleges for Engineering Technologies in the New England Region list, coming in at #1.

The student loan default rate at UMaine is lower than is typical, just 1.7% of students default in three years. There are approximately 5,820 students at UMaine that take at least one class online. 3,614 of UMaine students are attending part time.

Wentworth Institute of Technology comes in at #2 in this year's ranking. WIT is a small private not-for-profit school located in the city of Boston. WIT not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #2 on our Best Colleges for Engineering Technologies in the New England Region list.

About 0.9% of WIT students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. Approximately 737 students take at least one class online at WIT. 384 students are part time.

Central Connecticut State University comes in at #3 in this year's ranking. Located in the suburb of New Britain, CCSU is a public school with a medium-sized student population. As a testament to the quality of education offered at CCSU, the school also landed the #3 rank in our Best Colleges for Engineering Technologies in the New England Region ranking.

Fitchburg State is a moderately-sized public school located in the suburb of Fitchburg. Fitchburg State also made our Best Colleges for Engineering Technologies in the New England Region list, coming in at #4.
