Engineering Technologies is the 20th most popular major in the country with 85,188 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, engineering technologies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $52,350 and had an average of $21,560 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Plains States region, there were 6,869 engineering technologies graduates with average earnings and debt of $51,810 and $21,372 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,322 engineering technologies graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,046 and $29,021 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Engineering Tech for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 21 colleges that offer a degree in engineering technologies. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality engineering technologies programs as well as strong veteran support.
