Illinois Institute of Technology comes in at #1 in this year's ranking. Located in the city of Chicago, Illinois Tech is a private not-for-profit school with a medium-sized student population. Illinois Tech not only placed well in our veterans rankings. It is also #1 on our Best Colleges for Civil Engineering in Illinois list.
Our most recent data shows that 64 of the 6,753 students enrolled at Illinois Tech were GI Bill® students, of which 45 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $14,909. To help with additional expenses, 10 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Illinois Tech does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

University of Illinois at Chicago comes in at #2 in this year's ranking. UIC is a very large public school located in the city of Chicago. UIC also took the #3 spot in our Best Colleges for Civil Engineering in Illinois rankings.
Of the 31,683 students enrolled at UIC, 489 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 272 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for these recipients was $13,722. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign earned the #3 spot in our 2021 rankings. Located in the city of Champaign, UIUC is a public college with a very large student population. In addition to being on our best for vets list, UIUC has also earned the #2 rank in our Best Colleges for Civil Engineering in Illinois ranking.
Of the 49,702 students enrolled at UIUC, 500 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 247 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for these recipients was $12,702. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Bradley University comes in at #4 in this year's ranking. Located in the city of Peoria, Bradley is a private not-for-profit school with a moderately-sized student population. In addition to being on our best for vets list, Bradley has also earned the #4 rank in our Best Colleges for Civil Engineering in Illinois ranking.
According to our most recent data, Bradley supports 5,882 students, and 95 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 69 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
