Across the Southwest region, there were 1,837 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $70,584 and $19,521 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 280 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.

The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Engineering for a Bachelor’s. Arizona State University - Tempe is a public institution located in Tempe, Arizona. The school has a large population, and it awarded 149 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.

ASU - Tempe also took the #1 spot in our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Among the 74,795 students enrolled at ASU - Tempe, 7,566 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 3,828 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,068. In addition to receiving other benefits, 672 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. ASU - Tempe does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Out of the 5 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Engineering for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Texas Christian University landed the #2 spot on the list. TCU is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Fort Worth, Texas. It awarded 45 bachelors’s engineering degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at TCU, the school also landed the #3 spot in our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, TCU supports 11,379 students, and 520 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 405 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $23,096. During this same period, 343 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. TCU does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Oral Roberts University. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Engineering for a Bachelor’s list. This small school is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and it awarded 27 bachelors’s engineering degrees in 2020-2021.

ORU also made our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list, coming in at #5.According to our most recent data, ORU supports 4,317 students, and 135 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 76 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $10,157. On top of their other funding sources, 4 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Located in El Paso, Texas, this large public school handed out 7 degrees to qualified bachelors’s engineering students in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our southwest region bachelor’s degree vets studying engineering list, UTEP has also earned the #4 rank in our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,873 of the 24,879 students enrolled at UTEP were GI Bill® students, of which 942 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $5,990. To help with additional expenses, 2 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Located in Waco, Texas, this large private not-for-profit school awarded 8 degrees to qualified bachelors’s engineering students in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our southwest region bachelor’s degree vets studying engineering list, Baylor has also earned the #2 rank in our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Of the 19,297 students enrolled at Baylor University, 876 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 593 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $17,744. On top of their other funding sources, 263 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Baylor University offers credit for military training for eligible students.
