In 2019-2020, ocean engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $61,550 and had an average of $24,820 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 60 ocean engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,071 and $26,000 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 37 ocean engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,403 and $25,944 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for OE for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 2 colleges that offered a degree in ocean engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great ocean engineering programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of New Hampshire - Main Campus. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for OE for a Bachelor’s list. UNH is located in Durham, New Hampshire and, has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 10 bachelors’s OE degrees to qualified students.

UNH did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #1 on our “Best Ocean Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list.Our most recent data shows that 37 of the 14,348 students enrolled at University of New Hampshire - Main Campus were GI Bill® students, of which 24 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $20,247. On top of their other funding sources, 2 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 86%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year. This fairly large school is located in Kingston, Rhode Island, and it awarded 27 bachelors’s OE degrees in 2020-2021.

URI also took the #2 spot in our “Best Ocean Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 381 of the 17,649 students enrolled at URI were GI Bill® students, of which 187 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
