With 198,468 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, engineering is the 7th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $68,653 and had an average of $23,855 in loans still to pay off.
Across Pennsylvania, there were 10,191 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $70,080 and $26,180 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 6,617 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,741 and $27,572 respectively.

The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great engineering programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Out of the 17 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Pennsylvania for Engineering for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Carnegie Mellon University landed the #1 spot on the list.
