You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh Campus. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Writing for a Doctorate list. This large school is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 9 doctorate’s writing degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Pitt, the school also landed the #1 spot in our “Best Writing Studies Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 509 of the 32,277 students enrolled at University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh Campus were GI Bill® students, of which 364 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Duquesne is a medium-sized school located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that handed out 11 doctorate’s writing degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Duquesne, the school also landed the #2 spot in our “Best Writing Studies Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 219 of the 8,830 students enrolled at Duquesne were GI Bill® students, of which 127 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $11,403. To help with additional expenses, 43 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
