This year's Best Health Sciences & Services Colleges for Non-Traditional Students in the Far Western US Region ranking looked at 10 colleges that offer a bachelor's in health science. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality health sciences & services programs as well as strong support for students classified as non-traditional.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the health sciences & services program at the school, affordability, and presence of non-traditional students. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

The #3 spot in this year's ranking belongs to California State University - Sacramento. Located in the large city of Sacramento, Sac State is a public school with a fairly large student population. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, Sac State has also earned the #7 rank in our Best Colleges for Health Sciences & Services in the Far Western US Region ranking.

California State University - Fullerton landed the #4 spot in our 2021 best health sciences & services schools for non-traditional students. Cal State Fullerton is a very large public school located in the suburb of Fullerton. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, Cal State Fullerton has also earned the #3 rank in our Best Colleges for Health Sciences & Services in the Far Western US Region ranking.
About 0.8% of Cal State Fullerton students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. There are approximately 25,781 students at Cal State Fullerton that take at least one class online. There are roughly 10,634 part time students in attendance at Cal State Fullerton.

Our rankings recognize San Francisco State University as the #5 school in this year's rankings. Located in the large city of San Francisco, SFSU is a public school with a fairly large student population. As a testament to the quality of education offered at SFSU, the school also landed the #8 rank in our Best Colleges for Health Sciences & Services in the Far Western US Region ranking.
The student loan default rate at SFSU is lower than is typical, just 1.8% of students default in three years. 14,003 students at SFSU are exclusively online. There are roughly 6,034 part time students in attendance at SFSU.
