University of Massachusetts Amherst tops the 2021 list of our schools in the New England Region that are best for non-traditional public health students. UMass Amherst is a fairly large public school located in the large suburb of Amherst. UMass Amherst also took the #2 spot in our Best Colleges for Public Health in the New England Region rankings.

The student loan default rate at UMass Amherst is lower than is typical, just 0.9% of students default in three years. 4,105 students at UMass Amherst are exclusively online. About 6,786 of the students at UMass Amherst are attending part time.

The #2 spot in this year's ranking belongs to Southern Connecticut State University. Located in the midsize city of New Haven, SCSU is a public school with a moderately-sized student population. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, SCSU has also earned the #4 rank in our Best Colleges for Public Health in the New England Region ranking.
