Out of the 4 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Science, Tech & Society for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, James Madison University landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, this large public school handed out 93 degrees to qualified bachelors’s science, tech and society students in 2020-2021.
JMU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Science, Technology & Society Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list.According to our most recent data, James Madison University supports 21,594 students, and 842 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 464 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Science, Tech & Society for a Bachelor’s list. NC State is a large public school situated in Raleigh, North Carolina. It awarded 58 bachelors’s science, tech and society degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our southeast region bachelor’s degree vets studying science, tech & society list, NC State has also earned the #4 rank in our “Best Science, Technology & Society Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,102 of the 36,042 students enrolled at NC State were GI Bill® students, of which 493 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $5,886. In addition to receiving other benefits, 27 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

This large school is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and it awarded 59 bachelors’s science, tech and society degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Georgia Tech, the school also landed the #3 spot in our “Best Science, Technology & Society Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking.Of the 39,771 students enrolled at Georgia Tech, 430 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 18 degrees to qualified bachelors’s science, tech and society students in 2020-2021.
Vanderbilt not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best Science, Technology & Society Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list.According to our most recent data, Vanderbilt supports 13,537 students, and 13 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 3 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $17,769. During this same period, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
