In 2020-2021, 21,239 people earned their degree in chemistry, making the major the 51st most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, chemistry graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $40,656 and had an average of $22,680 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 1,178 chemistry graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,806 and $19,336 respectively.
