In 2020-2021, 17,542 people earned their degree in child development and psychology, making the major the 57th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, child development and psychology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $34,186 and had an average of $22,623 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 2,035 child development and psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $27,151 and $24,931 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,888 child development and psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,400 and $27,180 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Child Development for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 19 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in child development and psychology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent child development and psychology programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Out of the 19 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Child Development for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus landed the #5 spot on the list. Atlanta, Georgia is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s child development degrees to 40 students in 2020-2021.
