Insurance is the 201st most popular major in the country with 1,809 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, insurance graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $57,764 and had an average of $24,058 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 781 insurance graduates with average earnings and debt of $55,361 and $22,946 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 738 insurance graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,400 and $27,180 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Insurance for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 10 colleges that offered a degree in insurance. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great insurance programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

The public school handed out bachelors’s insurance degrees to 117 students in 2020-2021.

This large school is located in Columbia, South Carolina, and it awarded 124 bachelors’s insurance degrees in 2020-2021.

UofSC also made our “Best Insurance Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list, coming in at #3.Of the 35,470 students enrolled at University of South Carolina - Columbia, 1,609 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 651 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,453. In addition to receiving other benefits, 33 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.
