In 2019-2020, hospitality management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $35,874 and had an average of $22,906 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 6,049 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,985 and $24,947 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 3,469 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,400 and $27,180 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Hospitality for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 53 colleges that offer a degree in hospitality management. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent hospitality management programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the hospitality management program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Florida Gulf Coast University came in at #25 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Hospitality for a Bachelor’s ranking. This fairly large school is located in Fort Myers, Florida, and it awarded 109 bachelors’s hospitality degrees in 2020-2021.

FGCU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #15 on our “Best Hospitality Management Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list.Among the 15,358 students enrolled at Florida Gulf Coast University, 362 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 232 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $4,284. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
