In 2020-2021, 17,689 people earned their degree in hospitality management, making the major the 66th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, hospitality management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $35,874 and had an average of $22,906 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Plains States region, there were 749 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $34,019 and $24,679 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 511 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,046 and $29,021 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Hospitality for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 14 colleges that offered a degree in hospitality management. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent hospitality management programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the hospitality management program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Located in Ames, Iowa, this large public school awarded 104 degrees to qualified bachelors’s hospitality students in 2020-2021.

Iowa State also took the #1 spot in our “Best Hospitality Management Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Plains States Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, Iowa State University supports 31,822 students, and 814 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 388 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
