In 2020-2021, 6,547 people earned their degree in real estate, making the major the 155th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, real estate graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $60,568 and had an average of $21,484 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Far Western US region, there were 1,599 real estate graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,944 and $28,229 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” ranking, we looked at 19 colleges that offer a degree in real estate. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality real estate programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the real estate program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

The following schools top our list of the Best Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region.
Out of the 19 schools in the Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region that were part of this year’s ranking, College of Southern Nevada landed the #2 spot on the list. College of Southern Nevada is a public institution located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The school has a large population, and it awarded 40 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our far western us region real estate students list, CSN has also earned the #6 rank in our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” ranking. It costs about $7,019 for far western us region real estate students per year to attend College of Southern Nevada.
Out of the 19 schools in the Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Mt. San Antonio College landed the #3 spot on the list. This large school is located in Walnut, California, and it awarded 97 ’s real estate degrees in 2020-2021.
Mt. SAC also took the #7 spot in our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” ranking. The yearly cost to attend Mt. SAC is $3,144 for Far Western US Region Real Estate students.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Antelope Valley College. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region list. Lancaster, California is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s real estate degrees to 13 students in 2020-2021.
Antelope Valley College not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #15 on our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” list. The estimated yearly cost for Antelope Valley College is $9,277 for Far Western US Region Real Estate students.
Out of the 19 schools in the Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region that were part of this year’s ranking, American River College landed the #5 spot on the list. Located in Sacramento, California, this large public school handed out 14 diplomas to qualified ’s real estate students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our far western us region real estate students list, American River has also earned the #10 rank in our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for American River College is $5,561 for Far Western US Region Real Estate students.
Mt. San Jacinto College did quite well in the 2023 Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region ranking, coming in at #6. MSJC is located in San Jacinto, California and, has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 18 ’s real estate degrees to qualified students.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at MSJC, the school also landed the #11 spot in our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for MSJC is $5,817 for Far Western US Region Real Estate students.
Glendale Community College ranked #7 on this year’s Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region list. Glendale, California is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s real estate degrees to 65 students in 2020-2021.
GCC also made our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” list, coming in at #13. The yearly cost to attend GCC is $4,191 for Far Western US Region Real Estate students.

El Camino College came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region ranking. El Camino College is a public institution located in Torrance, California. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 9 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
El Camino College not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #14 on our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” list. It costs about $11,095 for Far Western US Region Real Estate students per year to attend El Camino College.
With a ranking of #9, Riverside City College did quite well on the 2023 Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region list. Portland State University ranked #11 on this year’s Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region list. This large school is located in Portland, Oregon, and it awarded 43 ’s real estate degrees in 2020-2021.

The low undergrad student loan default rate of 4.7% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.

Victor Valley College landed the #12 spot on the 2023 Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region ranking. This medium-sized school is located in Victorville, California, and it awarded 3 ’s real estate degrees in 2020-2021.

San Diego Mesa College did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #18 on our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” list. It costs about $5,573 for Far Western US Region Real Estate students per year to attend San Diego Mesa College.
Mendocino College did quite well in the 2023 Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region ranking, coming in at #16. This small school is located in Ukiah, California, and it awarded 2 ’s real estate degrees in 2020-2021.

Pepperdine University ranked #17 on this year’s Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region list. Pepperdine University is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Malibu, California. It awarded 33 ’s real estate degrees in 2020-2021.
Pepperdine did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #3 on our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” list. The estimated yearly cost for Pepperdine University is $38,846 for far western us region real estate students.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of 1.8% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 85%.
University of San Diego did quite well in the 2023 Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region ranking, coming in at #18. University of San Diego is located in San Diego, California and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 91 ’s real estate degrees to qualified students.

The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is 1.9%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.
University of Southern California came in at #19 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region ranking. University of Southern California is located in Los Angeles, California and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 40 ’s real estate degrees to qualified students.
USC also made our “Best Real Estate Schools in the Far Western US Region” list, coming in at #1. It costs about $32,569 for Far Western US Region Real Estate students per year to attend University of Southern California.
Since the school has a undergrad student-to-faculty ratio of 9 to 1, those pursuing a degree will have more opportunities to interact with their professors. The low undergrad student loan default rate of 1.3% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 91%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.
