In 2020-2021, 43,297 people earned their degree in teacher education subject specific, making the major the 22nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, teacher education subject specific graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $42,245 and had an average of $24,696 in loans still to pay off.

Across Pennsylvania, there were 1,794 teacher education subject specific graduates with average earnings and debt of $44,743 and $26,755 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 546 teacher education subject specific graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,741 and $27,572 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Pennsylvania for Subject Specific Ed for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 30 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in teacher education subject specific. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great teacher education subject specific programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
