Out of the 5 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Creative Writing for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Arizona landed the #1 spot on the list. Tucson, Arizona is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s creative writing degrees to 69 students in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our southwest region bachelor’s degree vets studying creative writing list, University of Arizona has also earned the #1 rank in our “Best Creative Writing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 2,131 of the 45,601 students enrolled at University of Arizona were GI Bill® students, of which 1,478 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,880. To help with additional expenses, 31 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 85%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.

Out of the 5 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Creative Writing for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Central Oklahoma landed the #2 spot on the list. UCO is located in Edmond, Oklahoma and, has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 22 bachelors’s creative writing degrees to qualified students.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at UCO, the school also landed the #3 spot in our “Best Creative Writing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 934 of the 14,132 students enrolled at University of Central Oklahoma were GI Bill® students, of which 428 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,062. To help with additional expenses, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of Central Oklahoma does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Stephen F Austin State University is a fairly large school located in Nacogdoches, Texas that handed out 15 bachelors’s creative writing degrees in 2020-2021.

This large school is located in El Paso, Texas, and it awarded 19 bachelors’s creative writing degrees in 2020-2021.

UTEP also took the #2 spot in our “Best Creative Writing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, UTEP supports 24,879 students, and 1,873 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 942 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. This medium-sized school is located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and it awarded 6 bachelors’s creative writing degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at NSU, the school also landed the #5 spot in our “Best Creative Writing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 304 of the 7,349 students enrolled at NSU were GI Bill® students, of which 118 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
