University of California - Santa Barbara tops the 2021 list of our schools in California that are best for non-traditional foreign languages and linguistics students. Located in the midsize suburb of Santa Barbara, UCSB is a public college with a fairly large student population. UCSB did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #1 on our Best Colleges for Foreign Languages & Linguistics in California list.

About 2.3% of UCSB students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. There are approximately 365 students at UCSB that take at least one class online. 656 students are part time. UCSB does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
