In 2020-2021, 20,665 people earned their degree in medicine, making the major the 42nd most popular in the United States.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for Medicine” ranking, we looked at 131 colleges that offer a degree in medicine. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality medicine programs as well as strong veteran support.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the medicine program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Out of the 131 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly for Medicine that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Florida landed the #1 spot on the list.
