Nursing is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 3rd of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 322,592 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $70,916 and had an average of $25,426 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Far Western US region, there were 26,717 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $85,206 and $22,066 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 8,726 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,803 and $17,868 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Nursing for an Associate” ranking analyzed 102 colleges that offered a degree in nursing. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great nursing programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the nursing program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.
