This ranking identifies schools with high-quality mathematics programs as well as strong support for students classified as non-traditional.

Vanderbilt University tops the 2021 list of our schools in the Southeast Region that are best for non-traditional mathematics students. Located in the large city of Nashville, Vanderbilt is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, Vanderbilt has also earned the #1 rank in our Best Colleges for Mathematics in the Southeast Region ranking.
The student loan default rate at Vanderbilt is lower than is typical, just 0.5% of students default in three years. There are approximately 821 students at Vanderbilt that take at least one class online. About 1,196 of the students at Vanderbilt are attending part time.

University of Virginia - Main Campus comes in at #2 in this year's ranking. University of Virginia is a fairly large public school located in the small suburb of Charlottesville.
