In 2020-2021, 19,594 people earned their degree in heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration, making the major the 192nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $32,998 and had an average of $11,353 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 1,893 heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,806 and $19,336 respectively.
This year’s “Most Well Attended HVACR Major for an Associate” ranking looked at 240 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration. To top this list, a school must have a successful heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration program that graduates more students in the field than other colleges that offer the same major.
