In 2020-2021, 9,487 people earned their degree in philosophy, making the major the 86th most popular in the United States.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for Philosophy” ranking, we looked at 73 colleges that offer a degree in philosophy. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent philosophy programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the philosophy program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. See our ranking methodology to learn more.
