Social Work is the 13th most popular major in the country with 58,326 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, social work graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $37,651 and had an average of $26,679 in loans still to pay off.

Across Texas, there were 4,261 social work graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,244 and $23,697 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Social Work” ranking, we looked at 28 colleges that offer a degree in social work. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality social work programs as well as strong veteran support.

Baylor University came in at #25 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Social Work ranking. Baylor is a large school located in Waco, Texas that handed out 189 ’s social work degrees in 2020-2021.

Baylor also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 19,297 students enrolled at Baylor University, 876 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 593 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $17,744.
