University of Florida has taken the #1 spot in this year's animal science ranking for non-traditional students. Located in the midsize city of Gainesville, UF is a public college with a fairly large student population. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, UF has also earned the #3 rank in our Best Colleges for Animal Science in the Southeast Region ranking.

The school has a low student loan default rate of 1.5%. Approximately 21,513 students take at least one class online at UF. 8,083 of UF students are attending part time. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

North Carolina State University earned the #2 spot in our 2021 rankings. Located in the large city of Raleigh, NC State is a public college with a very large student population. NC State not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #2 on our Best Colleges for Animal Science in the Southeast Region list.

About 2.8% of NC State students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. There are approximately 11,555 students at NC State that take at least one class online. About 7,111 of the students at NC State are attending part time. NC State does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Auburn, the school also landed the #1 rank in our Best Colleges for Animal Science in the Southeast Region ranking.
