It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for students. In 2020-2021, 4,982 people earned their degree in general architecture, making the major the 127th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, general architecture graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $49,005 and had an average of $26,624 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 1,150 general architecture graduates with average earnings and debt of $47,525 and $26,387 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Architecture Schools in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking analyzed 21 colleges that offered a degree in general architecture. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general architecture programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the general architecture program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 21 schools in the Best Value Architecture Schools in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Florida landed the #1 spot on the list. University of Florida is a large school located in Gainesville, Florida that handed out 173 ’s architecture degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UF, the school also landed the #3 spot in our “Best General Architecture Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for UF is $65 for southeast region architecture students whose families make $0-$30k.
