With 99,265 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, accounting is the 8th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, accounting graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $47,712 and had an average of $26,539 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Far Western US region, there were 11,263 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $49,675 and $24,003 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 2,478 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,803 and $17,868 respectively.
