Best Engineering Schools for Non-Traditional Students
University of Utah tops the 2021 list of our schools in Utah that are best for non-traditional engineering students. Located in the medium-sized city of Salt Lake City, U of U is a public school with a very large student population. U of U not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #1 on our Best Colleges for Engineering in Utah list.
The student loan default rate at U of U is lower than is typical, just 0.8% of students default in three years. There are approximately 19,378 students at U of U that take at least one class online. 7,185 students are part time.
Brigham Young University - Provo landed the #2 spot in our 2021 best engineering schools for non-traditional students. BYU is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the midsize city of Provo. BYU also made our Best Colleges for Engineering in Utah list, coming in at #2.
The school has a low student loan default rate of 0.4%. Approximately 12,325 students take at least one class online at BYU. About 4,504 of the students at BYU are attending part time.
Utah State University earned the #3 spot in our 2021 rankings. USU is a fairly large public school located in the city of Logan. As a testament to the quality of education offered at USU, the school also landed the #3 rank in our Best Colleges for Engineering in Utah ranking.

Utah Valley University comes in at #4 in this year's ranking. Located in the small city of Orem, UVU is a public college with a very large student population. UVU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #4 on our Best Colleges for Engineering in Utah list.
