History is the 30th most popular major in the country with 32,731 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, history graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $30,467 and had an average of $23,587 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 1,251 history graduates with average earnings and debt of $30,776 and $24,521 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 132 history graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,822 and $20,997 respectively.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Utah Valley University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for History for an Associate list. Utah Valley University is located in Orem, Utah and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 14 associates’s history degrees to qualified students.

UVU also made our “Best History Associate Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” list, coming in at #2.Of the 40,936 students enrolled at UVU, 813 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 379 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $4,550. To help with additional expenses, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Brigham Young University - Idaho is located in Rexburg, Idaho and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 60 associates’s history degrees to qualified students.

BYU - I also took the #1 spot in our “Best History Associate Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking.Of the 44,481 students enrolled at BYU - I, 471 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 200 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $2,677. During this same period, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.
