You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend American Public University System. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for History for an Associate list. Located in Charles Town, West Virginia, this large private for-profit school handed out 38 diplomas to qualified associates’s history students in 2020-2021.

American Military University not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best History Associate Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list.Of the 50,047 students enrolled at American Military University, 18,040 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 15,422 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $3,793. During this same period, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 98%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.

Liberty University is a large school located in Lynchburg, Virginia that handed out 10 associates’s history degrees in 2020-2021.

Liberty University also made our “Best History Associate Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list, coming in at #2.According to our most recent data, Liberty University supports 93,349 students, and 13,282 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 8,897 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
