In 2020-2021, 3,005 people earned their degree in sustainability studies, making the major the 248th most popular in the United States.

Across the Far Western US region, there were 388 sustainability studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $0 and $0 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Sustainability” ranking, we looked at 7 colleges that offer a degree in sustainability studies. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent sustainability studies programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Out of the 7 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Sustainability that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Washington - Seattle Campus landed the #1 spot on the list. UW Seattle is located in Seattle, Washington and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 53 ’s sustainability degrees to qualified students.

UW Seattle also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,283 of the 48,149 students enrolled at UW Seattle were GI Bill® students, of which 769 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Stanford University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Sustainability list. Located in Stanford, California, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 29 degrees to qualified ’s sustainability students in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Stanford, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 188 of the 15,953 students enrolled at Stanford University were GI Bill® students, of which 118 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $18,909. In addition to receiving other benefits, 61 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.

Western Washington University is a fairly large public school situated in Bellingham, Washington. It awarded 38 ’s sustainability degrees in 2020-2021.

WWU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Of the 15,197 students enrolled at Western Washington University, 622 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 324 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $5,933. On top of their other funding sources, 7 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Western Washington University does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Located in Monmouth, Oregon, this small public school handed out 5 degrees to qualified ’s sustainability students in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Western Oregon State College, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 4,554 students enrolled at Western Oregon State College, 187 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. UCR is a large school located in Riverside, California that handed out 52 ’s sustainability degrees in 2020-2021.

UCR also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Among the 26,434 students enrolled at UCR, 11 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 5 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $2,182. Hawaii Pacific University came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Sustainability ranking. Hawaii Pacific University is a small school located in Honolulu, Hawaii that handed out 8 ’s sustainability degrees in 2020-2021.

Hawaii Pacific University did well in our major quality rankings, too. Presidio Graduate School came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Sustainability ranking. Presidio Graduate School is a small school located in San Francisco, California that handed out 68 ’s sustainability degrees in 2020-2021.

Presidio Graduate School did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Of the 152 students enrolled at Presidio Graduate School, 15 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
