In 2020-2021, 9,470 people earned their degree in religious studies, making the major the 90th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, religious studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $34,289 and had an average of $24,431 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 423 religious studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,014 and $24,037 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 239 religious studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.

The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Religion for a Bachelor’s. This large school is located in Tempe, Arizona, and it awarded 8 bachelors’s religion degrees in 2020-2021.

ASU - Tempe did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Religious Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list.According to our most recent data, ASU - Tempe supports 74,795 students, and 7,566 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 3,828 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
