With all of the options veterans have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for CompSci for a Master’s” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 59,565 people earned their degree in computer science, making the major the 12th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, computer science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $67,538 and had an average of $23,620 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 5,158 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $80,479 and $22,782 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for CompSci for a Master’s” ranking looked at 14 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer science. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great computer science programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Top 14 Best Computer Science Master’s Degree Colleges for Veterans in the New England Region
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for CompSci for a Master’s list. This fairly large school is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and it awarded 250 masters’s compsci degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at MIT, the school also landed the #1 spot in our “Best Computer Science Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 129 of the 11,254 students enrolled at MIT were GI Bill® students, of which 38 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
