When pursuing a degree in today’s world, veterans have many different options to choose from. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Computer & Information Sciences for a Master’s” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 254,454 computer and information sciences students received their degree, making the major the 6th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, computer and information sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $52,893 and had an average of $27,324 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 33,795 computer and information sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $52,314 and $26,668 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Computer & Information Sciences for a Master’s” ranking, we looked at 56 colleges that offer a degree in computer and information sciences. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great computer and information sciences programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Loyola University Chicago ranked #25 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Computer & Information Sciences for a Master’s list. This fairly large school is located in Chicago, Illinois, and it awarded 21 masters’s computer and information sciences degrees in 2020-2021.
