Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer and information sciences programs, but they also offer a lot of support to non-traditional students.

Rochester Institute of Technology has taken the #1 spot in this year's computer and information sciences ranking for non-traditional students. Located in the suburb of Rochester, RIT is a private not-for-profit college with a large student population. RIT did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #5 on our Best Colleges for Computer & Information Sciences list.

About 3.1% of RIT students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. There are approximately 2,247 students at RIT that take at least one class online. 1,596 of RIT students are attending part time. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

WIT is a small private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Boston. On top of its placing in our non-traditional rankings, WIT also did well on our Best Colleges for Computer & Information Sciences list. It's in the top 5% of all schools reviewed in that analysis.

The student loan default rate at WIT is lower than is typical, just 3.0% of students default in three years. Approximately 307 students take at least one class online at WIT.
