In 2020-2021, 28,844 people earned their degree in electrical engineering, making the major the 39th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $74,380 and had an average of $24,114 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 5,288 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $68,403 and $24,939 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value EE Schools in the Southeast Region For Those Making $48-$75k” ranking analyzed 60 colleges that offered a degree in electrical engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great electrical engineering programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the electrical engineering program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
