General Engineering is the 79th most popular major in the country with 11,796 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $68,873 and had an average of $20,557 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 2,586 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $62,738 and $21,037 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Engineering for a Master’s” ranking analyzed 23 colleges that offered a degree in general engineering. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent general engineering programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
