Sustainability Studies is the 248th most popular major in the country with 3,005 degrees awarded in 2020-2021.
Across the New England region, there were 300 sustainability studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $0 and $0 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 77 sustainability studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,403 and $25,944 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Sustainability for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 3 colleges that offer a degree in sustainability studies. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great sustainability studies programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Top 3 Best Sustainability Studies Bachelor’s Degree Colleges for Veterans in the New England Region
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of New Hampshire - Main Campus. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Sustainability for a Bachelor’s list. Located in Durham, New Hampshire, this fairly large public school awarded 28 degrees to qualified bachelors’s sustainability students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our new england region bachelor’s degree vets studying sustainability list, UNH has also earned the #2 rank in our “Best Sustainability Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 37 of the 14,348 students enrolled at UNH were GI Bill® students, of which 24 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $20,247. During this same period, 2 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Sustainability for a Bachelor’s list. Located in Amherst, Massachusetts, this large public school awarded 31 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s sustainability students in 2020-2021.
UMass Amherst also made our “Best Sustainability Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list, coming in at #3.Of the 31,642 students enrolled at UMass Amherst, 477 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 252 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,295. To help with additional expenses, 21 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

WPI is located in Worcester, Massachusetts and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 5 bachelors’s sustainability degrees to qualified students.
WPI also made our “Best Sustainability Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list, coming in at #1.Of the 6,920 students enrolled at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, 77 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
