When it comes to choosing a college, international students have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our Best Colleges for Sri Lankan Students in the Southwest Region ranking is part of that endeavor.
We analyzed 24 colleges and universities across the Southwest Region to determine which were the best for Sri Lankan students in the Southwest Region. Instead of depending on subjective information, we focus on objective factors to determine this ranking. These factors include such things as the total number of international students at the school and the school's overall quality.

The University of Texas at Dallas tops this year’s ranking as the best school for Sri Lankan students in the Southwest Region. Located in Richardson, Texas, the large public school handed out 4,825 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
International students make up 14.5% of the total student body at the school. Students from as far away as India, China, and Taiwan come to UT Dallas to study.
Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 90%.

A rank of #2 on our list means Rice University is a great place for Sri Lankan students in the Southwest Region working on their bachelor’s degree. Rice University is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school located in Houston, Texas that handed out 1,364 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
International students make up 23.3% of the total student body at the school. Students studying at Rice come from such countries as China, India, and South Korea.
