Accounting is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 8th of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 99,265 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, accounting graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $47,712 and had an average of $26,539 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 6,104 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $54,966 and $26,462 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 3,201 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,403 and $25,944 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Accounting for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 55 colleges that offer a degree in accounting. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great accounting programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
