When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for CIS for a Master’s” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 88,434 computer information systems students received their degree, making the major the 9th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, computer information systems graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $54,066 and had an average of $26,787 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 11,637 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $51,446 and $28,134 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for CIS for a Master’s” ranking, we looked at 25 colleges that offer a degree in computer information systems. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great computer information systems programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the computer information systems program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.
Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for CIS for a Master’s
The following schools top our list of the Best “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for CIS for a Master’s”.
Out of the 25 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for CIS for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Arizona landed the #1 spot on the list. This large school is located in Tucson, Arizona, and it awarded 120 masters’s CIS degrees in 2020-2021.
University of Arizona also made our “Best Computer Information Systems Master’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list, coming in at #4.Of the 45,601 students enrolled at University of Arizona, 2,131 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 1,478 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,880. On top of their other funding sources, 31 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.
